Guwahati, Jan 29: The much-anticipated Samutkarsh Mahashivir 2025 commenced today at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, Assam. The three-day mega event, organized by Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, aims to foster knowledge exchange and instill patriotic values among students from the northeastern states.

The event was inaugurated by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, attended as the Guest of Honour, while Kaushik Rai joined as a Special Guest. Several senior dignitaries and educationists were also present to mark the grand opening.

Speaking to the media, Lt. General (Retd.) Rana Pratap Kalita, President of the organizing committee, emphasized the significance of such gatherings. โ€œThis kind of event provides students with a platform to gain knowledge beyond textbooks, encouraging them to develop a love for their country and engage in diverse learning experiences,โ€ he said.

More than 5,000 students and teachers from Vidya Bharati schools across the Northeast are participating in the event. The program features a wide range of activities, including cultural performances, a band display, and interactive sessions designed to enhance studentsโ€™ learning and overall development.

Highlighting Arunachal Pradeshโ€™s participation, Vidya Bharati patron Tai Tagak shared that 400 students from the state have joined the event. Stressing the importance of holistic education, he remarked, โ€œEducation is not just about books. There are many skills and life lessons that students can learn through such programs, which help them grow in various fields.โ€

The Samutkarsh Mahashivir 2025 will continue till January 31, offering students an opportunity to engage in cultural exchange, patriotic activities, and skill-building sessions.
