Alumni Take Initiative to Revive Shishu Mandirs

Palamuru, February 22, 2026: A massive gathering of alumni from 28 schools across the erstwhile Palamuru district was held at Brindavan Gardens, focusing on the development of a "United Palamuru." The event saw an overwhelming response, with approximately 3,000 former students and 250 former teachers in attendance, alongside current faculty, management committee members, and well-wishers.

The Chief Guest, Sri Ayachitula Lakshman Rao (South Central Region Secretary of Vidya Bharati), along with Sri Reddi Hari Smaran Reddy (President, South Central Region Former Students Council), Sri Cholleti Raja Reddy (Secretary), and Sri Kunti Ellappa (Vibhag Karyadarshi), addressed the gathering and provided strategic guidance.

Key Highlights & Speeches:

  • Sri Ayachitula Lakshman Rao stated that whether it is the prayer "Param Vaibhavam Netumey Tatswara Rashtram" or "Jag Siramourbhanaye Bharat," the core objective remains the same: national excellence. He noted that with 24,000 schools nationwide, Shishu Mandirs now have a presence in every state. He expressed immense pride in seeing alumni holding high-ranking positions across various sectors and urged them to dedicate themselves to the mission of building value-based individuals.
  • Sri Hari Smaran Reddy emphasized that alumni play a crucial role in restoring the former glory of Shishu Mandirs. He urged them to commit to this state-wide mission and build schools that meet modern societal aspirations.
  • Sri Cholleti Raja Reddy remarked that Shishu Mandir schools are community-built and community-dedicated. He called on alumni to ensure that future generations receive the benefits of all-round individual development through these institutions.

Major Contributions & Resolutions: The event witnessed significant philanthropic pledges aimed at infrastructure and academic upgrades:

  • Sri Yadma Madhav Reddy (Alumnus & Palamuru Vibhag Sanyojak) announced ₹25 lakhs for a new building at the Kalwakurthy school to accommodate growing student numbers.
  • Sri Ashok (Deputy Tehsildar) donated half an acre of land (valued at ₹25 lakhs) for the Peddamandadi school.
  • Wanaparthy Shishu Mandir Alumni pledged ₹1 crore to transition the school to a CBSE curriculum.
  • Dr. Vijay Reddy (Ramireddy Eye Hospital) contributed ₹50 lakhs toward CBSE school construction.
  • Smt. D.K. Aruna (MP) announced support for securing five acres of land for the Gadwal school building.
  • Sri Vakiti Srihari (Telangana Cabinet Minister and Alumnus) promised assistance in allocating land for an Awasam (Residential) school in united Palamuru.

Commemorating the Centenary: In honor of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) centenary year, alumni from schools that had previously closed resolved to restart them. Dr. Srinivas Rao and his medical team pledged comprehensive support for this revival.

The success of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Sri Obugari Srinivasayya, Sri Maddi Anantha Reddy, Sri Ashok Reddy, and other prominent dignitaries including Sri Bandari Shanthakumar and Sri Boddu Srinivas.
